It’s the opening weekend of Ottawa’s Christmas market in Lansdowne.

It is located in Casino Lac-Leamy Plaza, surrounded by snow-covered heritage buildings and wooden huts. Thousands of lights and decorations twinkle and sparkle.

Enjoy holiday entertainment, local services and some holiday shopping.

MANOTICK PARADE OF LIGHT

Manotick’s first Parade of Lights ever is set for Saturday at 7 p.m. 17.00

The Kiwanis Club of Manotick, Manotick BIA and the Manotick Village and Community Association host the first Santa Parade of Lights ever.

This will be preceded by Christmas carols and the Kiwanis tree lighting ceremony on the corner of Manotick Main and Bridge Street.

Funds will be raised during the parade for the Manotick Food Cupboard.

SANTA CLAUS VISITS BROCKVILLE

The Rotary Santa Claus Stationary Parade is set for Saturday at Court House Green in Brockville.

Pedestrians are invited to enter at many of the intersections of Court House Green from 4pm to 8pm to see Santa Claus and Mrs Claus and the parade.

SANTA CLAUS PARADE AT CARLETON PLACE

Santa will be at Carleton Place on Saturday for Santa’s parade.

The theme for this year’s parade is “Favorite Christmas Stories.”

The parade begins at 5pm at Carleton Place High School and will travel on Lake Avenue West before traveling up Bridge Street.

THE MAGIC OF LIGHT

Celebrate Christmas and the holidays with the magic of light in Wesley Clover Parks.

Magic of Lights is a dazzling, drive-through holiday lighting experience with favorite holiday scenes and seasonal characters.

Each ticket to the Magic of Lights benefits CHEO.

CAPITAL CHALLENGE

Canada’s national women’s ice hockey team and three under 17 teams meet in the Capital City Challenge at TD Place.

The match starts on Friday with Canada’s women’s hockey team against Team Canada White, followed by Team Canada Black against Team Canada Red.

The four-team tournament continues until December 1st.

Ottawa Farmers Market hosts the Christmas Market every Saturday and Sunday during the holiday season.
