Prince George man arrested after shooting businesses

Prince George RCMP has a suspect in custody after reports of a man shooting at the windows of a store in the Parkwood Shopping Center with a gun Thursday morning.

The message came at 9:40 a.m., and officers poured into the area. Witnesses identified the suspect, who walked away from the area, to members of the RCMP Downtown Safety Unit, who took the suspect into custody.

A search of the suspect revealed a concealed gun-shaped pellet gun.
“It took only five minutes from the time the police received the first call to the time a suspect was arrested,” said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jennifer

Cooper said in a press release. “This is yet another excellent example of the coherent work of both frontline police and Downtown Safety Unit members who are committed to holding those responsible for violent crime accountable and ensuring the safety of our society.”

The suspect is known to police for similar incidents and will remain in custody while police forward charges against the man.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
