Power has been restored to approximately 1,100 homes in Varsity after a car ran into a bright standard Thursday on the Shaganappi Trail and knocked it out for over two hours.
Enmax confirmed that the power was fully restored to Varsity residents at. 20.20 Thursday evening.
Earlier in the evening, an Enmax spokesman confirmed the incident, which took place around 1 p.m. 17.43 in Shaganappi and Varsity. The light standard dropped on some power lines, causing the power to go out in the neighboring neighborhood.
According to @YYCTransportation, southbound Shaganappi is closed to traffic. Police advise motorists to seek alternative roads.
