Mississippi State football radio broadcast of terrible sequences deserves an award

Listen to the Mississippi State football radio broadcast call the Bulldogs, who have not put any points on the board at the finish line in the Egg Bowl on Thursday.

It’s rivalry week in college football, and things started on Thanksgiving in the annual Egg Bowl between Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Well, it went well for the rebels. As for the Bulldogs, not the best games.

Mississippi State found its way to the finish line behind 10-6 with the chance to put points on the board. There were several drops and a team penalty thrown in the middle of them to force the Bulldogs to attempt a field goal. Of course, Nolan McCord missed his 33-yard attempt.

You heard it on the national broadcast, but listen to the series of events that were called by Mississippi State Football Radio.

Mississippi State’s misses in the red zone result in no points vs. Ole Miss

All of these attempts to cut it down to either a 13-10 lead or even a 10-9 deficit were halted due to incomplete passes and the kick that went right at the goal post.

It certainly does not help that Ole Miss pulled off in the second half. On their first drive of the third quarter, the Rebels orchestrated a seven-play drive that culminated in a one-yard touchdown run by Snoop Conner. Ole Miss then extended their lead to 24-6 on a four-yard run by quarterback Matt Corral.

When they came into the game, the Rebels led in the all-time head-to-head series with 63 wins, while the Bulldogs had 46.

This will undoubtedly be something that Bulldogs fans will try to forget has ever happened.
