Man arrested for ‘following single women in city center and assaulting girl’

Police have arrested a man suspected of assaulting a girl and following ‘lonely women’ in the city center.

The suspect was also wanted for alleged assaults on paramedics.

Task force officers from the West Midlands Police Project Guardian Team made the arrest yesterday (Thursday).

The age of the arrested man is not known, but he has been remanded in custody for further questioning.

He was arrested by project leaders from the Project Guardian, which is the Youth and Violence Knife Crime Team and works to stop crime involving young people in the city center.

The Project Guardian Team took to Twitter and tweeted: “WMP @GuardianWMP.

“Task Force Officers have today arrested a man suspected of following ‘lonely’ women and had assaulted a young girl in the City Center @brumpolice @WhiteRibbon_UK He was also wanted for assault on paramedics @OFFICIALWMAS #LifeorKnife.”
