A sneaker and streetwear store abruptly closed at a central location at the Eaton Center this week, and it looks like other locations in Toronto may not last long.
Footaction has disappeared from its strip of the popular downtown mall, and it has been reported that all of its stores’ leases expire over the next two years.
The brand was acquired by Foot Locker in 2004 after a bankruptcy proceeding, and apparently some better performing Footaction sites will be made for Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Foot Locker Kids stores.
There are also places for Footaction in Yorkdale and Fairview shopping malls as well as the Scarborough Town Center.
The Footaction Toronto Instagram account was last active on October 13, though the site has not released any official announcement or update on the status of the stores in the city.
