Protesters force Prime Minister Daniel Andrews to abandon Bendigo TAFE press conference

The incident is the latest escalation of tensions around the Pandemic Act, which has resulted in high-profile public servants also being attacked.

Mr. Andrews abbreviated the message and told the audience, “to maybe give you a quieter time, I’m going now”.

People could be heard shouting abuse and “firing Dan Andrews” as he was led from the event into a car.

9News understands that Mr Andrews left the place on the advice of Victoria Police.

They needed a police escort to safely leave parliament as they were ravaged by protesters.

About 200 protesters gathered on the steps of the Victorian Parliament last night to gather against the pandemic laws.
