Three young people are offered internships at Altonas Louis Joel Arts and Community Center during a pilot project.
The internships are for people aged 18 to 25 who are looking for a career in the creative industries and / or the community development sector.
They were made possible by a Hobsons Bay Community Fund COVID-19 contribution to recovery and a contribution from the Hobsons Bay Council.
Project Coordinator Danielle Whelan said each intern would be supported with a budget to develop and deliver a project to gain the skills and experience they needed to find work.
“I think the art in particular has been very much affected in terms of the pandemic,” she said.
“Louis Joel is quite ready to use the funds to really support a project that someone is coming up with – this is the right place to do this.”
The interns will join Louis Joel over the coming year.
